Journals ranked with SJR

The SJR (Scimago Journal Rank) metric is a tool used to evaluate the scientific influence of scholarly journals. It measures the impact of journals by considering both the number of citations received by a journal and the importance or prestige of the journals where such citations come from.

View top ranked journals in religion and subfields.

A journal's prestige in the SJR ranking depends on:

  • The prestige of the journals citing it (weighted citations).
  • The number of citations it receives, adjusted for field and journal type.
  • The quality of its articles, as inferred from its network of citations.

This approach moves beyond raw citation counts, focusing instead on the journal's influence within its academic ecosystem.
