Theological handbooks and companions

Theological handbooks and companions are an excellent place to explore current scholarly conversations on theologians and theological topics in all periods of church history. The video also demonstrates how to request a scan of a book chapter if the resource is not available online.

Library search for books by and about an author

In this video (no audio) you will see how to limit a search of the library's discovery system--library.wheaton.edu--to just books (ebooks and printed) by or about a figure in church history using the limit options in the left navigation. The example in this video is Hildegard of Bingen, first limiting the initial results to books, then to Hildegard as an author, and then to her as a subject. You will also see how to request a scanned chapter from any print book and how to expand your search results to include books held in other Illinois academic libraries (I-Share).
