If you're looking for background on a person or subject with suggestions for further reading then  try the "Person Search" in the Literature Resource Center database. Also consult  Latin American Writers or Literary Cultures of Latin America: A Comparative History.
If you're looking for biographies and books on your author then search the Library Catalog. Search your writer's name as a subject to separate books by from books about the author.
If you're looking for journal articles and book chapters then start with MLA Int'l Bibliography database. Other recommended databases.
