Library lookup

Using Zotero to look for the full text of a citation

When you download citations that do not have full-text, you can perform a "Library Lookup" to see if the library has access to the full-text and if not, place an ILLiad request. You will need to set your preferences before you can use this feature.

  1. Open the Zotero.
  2. Select "Preferences" from the menu bar under "Zotero" or "edit."
  3. When in "Preferences" select the "Advanced" tab.
  4. You will see a box in the center called OpenURL
  5. The top dropdown should contain "Custom."
  6. In the box below labeled "Resolver" enter the URL of our link resolver https://i-share-whe.primo.exlibrisgroup.com/openurl/01CARLI_WHE/01CARLI_WHE:CARLI_WHE?
  7. Click OK to save your changes.

When you want to look up full-text or place an ILLiad request

  1. Select the citation you want to look up or use to place the request.
  2. On the top menu bar in Zotero, next to the search box is a dropdown arrow.
  3. Drop down the selections and pick "Library Lookup."
  4. The familiar "Find it!" screen will appear where you can see if full-text is available or you can place an ILLiad request.
